St Paul's McKinnon Junior Football and Netball Club

St Pauls

At St Pauls McKinnon Junior Football and Netball Club, we are advocates of road safety, both out on our roads, and within the confines of McKinnon Reserve.

In July, our junior football teams wore blue 'band together' armbands in support of the Traffic Accident Commission (TAC)'s campaign reminding us that we all have someone to drive safely for. Here at the kennel, we became acutely aware of how important these messages are when a local teenager was hit and killed on Tucker Road directly opposite our clubrooms earlier in July. In 2024, 284 lives were lost on our roads. 284 too many.

To ensure we can be as safe as possible around our kids, in 2025 we successfully lobbied Glen Eira City Council to erect new yellow 10km/hr signs on the access roads between ovals at McKinnon Reserve. The council have also agreed to co-fund with us the erection of netting behind the goals on oval 1 to ensure balls kicked through this area can be safely retrieved without the need for our kids to be on the road. You can help us fund these nets by donating here

Please take a few minutes to watch the short film from the TAC featured on this page. You can be the difference. Show up for your team - slow down on the road.
